San Diego Bowl Games Announce 2014 Summer Event Schedule

Kaiser Permanente Youth Football Clinic
Saturday, July 26, 2014 • Qualcomm Stadium Rugby Fields • 8:00am-12 noon

The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl and Kaiser Permanente team up to host a FREE youth football clinic on the rugby fields at Qualcomm Stadium. College football coaches will run the clinic for youth ages 5-14.

Registration begins on-site at 7:45 a.m. on event day, Saturday, July 26.

The event is designed to promote and introduce college football to kids of all ages. Youth will participate in offense, defense/agility and tackling/blocking drills run by local university coaches. Youth participants will also hear from a keynote speaker on the fundamentals of being a good football player and great student-athlete, on the field and in the classroom.

In addition to Kaiser Permanente, sponsors of this event include the San Diego Chargers, San Diego County Credit Union, San Diego Family Magazine, Cox Communications, Mighty 1090 and Jersey Mike’s.

Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals
Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014 • Qualcomm Stadium Rugby Fields • 8:00 a.m. registration, 9:00 a.m. racing begins

The 18th annual Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals kicks off in San Diego at Qualcomm Stadium. The top 16 dogs from the qualifying round will advance to the San Diego final at the Del Mar Race Track. The top dog from San Diego will advance to the championship at the Port of San Diego Big Bay Balloon Parade. This year’s finalists will receive the opportunity to march with the Wienerschnitzel float in the nationally televised parade.

Any dachshund may participate. Admission to the event is free to humans and non-racing dogs.
